RigFX is the creative half of the Rig: a vocal effects plugin that turns one lead into doubles, a stereo spread, harmonies, a talkbox and a vocoder — five engines on one shared analysis of your voice, mixed on six lanes, with a modulation system (Motion) that makes any of it move with the performance. A pitch corrector sits in front of all of it so everything lands on the same notes. VocalRig finishes the vocal; RigFX multiplies it.

No. RigFX works on its own on any vocal track. If you do own VocalRig, put RigFX right after it: RigFX follows VocalRig's key, scale and voice setting over RigLink, and VocalRig's FX Only mode lets you run the reverb and delay after RigFX so the harmonies and doubles sit in the same space as the lead.

Major, minor, chromatic, harmonic and melodic minor, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian — and a custom note set. Harmonies step through the notes the scale actually has, so a Phrygian harmony keeps its flat second and a Lydian one its sharp fourth. Pick the key in the header, or let RigLink take it from VocalRig; until you do, RigFX stays chromatic rather than guessing. You can also skip scales entirely: MIDI mode plays the notes you hold, and Chord mode steps each voice through a chord you hold, above or below whatever you are singing.

RigFX accepts MIDI in VST3 and AU. In Ableton, add a MIDI track with its output routed to the vocal track's RigFX; in Logic it is a MIDI-controlled effect. Notes set the carrier pitch, the mod wheel adds vibrato and the pitch bender slides. Without a keyboard, both engines follow your sung pitch, snapped to the key, and can build a chord above it on their own.

Yes — set the vocoder's carrier to Sidechain and feed any track into RigFX's sidechain input. If the sidechain goes silent, the internal synth steps in so the vocoder never drops out.

One constant 52.7 ms, reported to your DAW and compensated automatically — so it lines up on playback and mixdown. It never changes when you switch engines on or off, so nothing shifts mid-session. With every engine off and the Tuner at zero, the output is your dry vocal, bit for bit, at that same delay. For tracking through it live, monitor dry and print the effects after.

Yes — VocalRig's pitch corrector is built in and runs first in the chain, so everything downstream hears the corrected lead. That matters more than it sounds: harmonies and doubles copy the lead's intonation by design, so a lead sitting 30 cents flat used to hand you a whole stack sitting 30 cents flat. The Tuner knob in the MASTER panel is the hardness — zero is off (and the dry stays bit-exact), around 60 is VocalRig's own default, 100 is the hard sound — and it keeps your vibrato. It is off by default on a fresh insert; the stacking and Hybrid presets switch it on. No extra latency: it fits inside the delay RigFX already reports.

RigFX ships as VST3 and Audio Unit (AU) with MIDI input, native on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows: Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One and every other major DAW that hosts VST3 or AU. Pro Tools isn't supported — it needs an AAX build, which RigFX doesn't ship.

Your license activates on one computer at a time. Switch machines by deactivating the old one from your dashboard and activating the new one.
